The feet are one of the areas of the body that are exposed to more injuries with the arrival of the cold, according to Berta Mayol, specialist in podiatry at Creu Blanca Clinics, so it is recommended to take precautions to protect them from falling temperatures. The specialist warns, “There are many injuries in this important part of the body due to lower temperatures. Paying attention to the signals that our feet require regular checkups  to avoid complications."

Mayol recommends the use of natural fiber socks to help with perspiration and the wearing of suitable footwear with natural, breathable materials and non-slip soles. Shoes should not squeeze feet so as not to hinder circulation. He also points out the need to completely dry the feet after washing and then to moisturize and massage them to stimulate circulation. "If the feeling of cold remains, it could indicate that there is some type of pathology, so it would be wise to go to the podiatry office for an expert to perform a personalized diagnosis of the situation,” he recommends.
