TURNING A LEMON INTO LEMONADE

Success is an elusive thing that most people spend their entire lives chasing without ever achieving it. Some people can't image their success as if it is some magic formula that only others can achieve. Success does not often come easily as the most important words associated with it are hard work and dedication. Another important ingredient is passion, passion for the things you are doing and the people you work with.
We are in the people business which at times can be challenging. Successful people are experts at effectively dealing with people. As you all know, 10% of your patient give you 90% of your headaches. This is a universal fact and cannot be modified, therefore you have to effectively deal with your patients. Yes, you are a caregiver and sometimes you must be firm, but this must be done with tact, love and no attitude. You are like a parent to a loved child who always wants to do the right thing. Poor attitude has no place in this foot clinic, ever. That is not the way we have ever run our clinic, nor will in the future. We had to let one Chiropodist and several support staff go previously as they just didn't get it. I don't settle for second best ever, that is for others. Being first is much more rewarding and satisfying all round.
Successful people.
1. Love their profession.
2. Love their patients.
3. Are constantly upgrading their people skills and knowledge.
4. Are always early (30 minutes) before their first patient.
