TORONTO PODIATRIST, SHELDON NADAL DISCUSSES MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY AT INTERNATIONAL SURGICAL CONFERENCE

 

 

 

 

On October 25, 2017, Canadian podiatrist Sheldon Nadal, DPM, lectured on the Modified Wilson Osteotomy, a minimally invasive approach for the surgical treatment of hallux valgus, at the International Surgery and Ortho Conference held in Toronto, Canada. In attendance were doctors from China, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, Pakistan, India, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Scotland, Spain, Egypt, Belgium, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mexico, and the U.S.

Dr.  Nadal discussed the indications, instrumentation, and technique for this bunion procedure as well as advantages of minimally invasive foot surgery. These include less soft tissue trauma, which can result in less post-operative pain and disability, earlier ambulation, as well as reduced need for post-operative narcotic analgesia.
