TORONTO FOOT SPECIALISTS DISCUSSES TORONTO STAR ARTICLE ON FOOT FUNGUS

Researchers at the U.S. National Institute of Health have discovered that there are over 60 different types of toenail fungi, 80 different type of heel fungus and 40 different types of fungi between the toes using DNA sequencing as reported by the Toronto Star on Friday, May 24, 2013.

fungal infections affects a large percentage of the population and makes up a large part of a foot doctors practice.  Prevention is very important by wearing flip flops in public areas and showers and pools, proper drying of the foot and foot wear and general good hygiene.  Once you become infected with fungus it is difficult to treat, especially the toenails.  At our foot clinic we have invested in the latest technology in the treatment of toenail fungus, the Alma laser which has no side effects.

If you or a loved one are suffering from unsightly toenail fungus, please do not hesitate to contact our foot clinic for honest, competent advice and treatment at 416-465-8737.
