FUNCTIONAL ORTHOTICS ARE EFFECTIVE FOR MORTON'S FOOT

According to podiatrist Robert Weiss, DPM, The Morton’s foot is an inherited foot type, a mechanically imbalanced and weakened foot, which causes abnormal “pronation” or a flattening of the arch during weight-bearing. In turn, the kneecap and the foot roll inward during walking and running. The most frequent cause of structural instability in the foot is Morton’s foot.

"A functional sports orthotic or a functional orthotic (used by people on their feet for many hours during the day) is a device which controls motion and position of the foot and leg during locomotion. It is well tolerated by all and usually results in improved foot function—especially in the Morton’s foot type and its related injuries," says Dr. Weiss.
